The idea for We See began with a simple concept: a fresh, free-flowing approach to modern jazz classics, brought to life by a dynamic sextet of world-class musicians. Instead of a controlled studio recording, the decision was made to capture the energy and spontaneity of live performances at Smoke Jazz & Supper Club. The result was more than just a recording — it was the start of something bigger.
What emerged was a cohesive band rooted in shared artistry, trust, and a natural chemistry that can’t be forced. This sense of connection is at the heart of We See, led by Steve Davis and featuring an all-star ensemble: Eddie Henderson (trumpet), Ralph Moore (tenor saxophone), Renee Rosnes (piano), Essiet Essiet (bass), and Lewis Nash (drums).
With a focus on both classic repertoire and creative freedom, We See reflects the essence of live jazz — honest, immediate, and deeply collaborative.
